Wrapping Paper for Different Holidays
Holidays are wonderful times of the year. They not only offer a much needed time
off from the job but they also bring forth opportunities to have a great time
and enjoy precious moments with loved ones. These special occasions are mostly
celebrated with merry makings, a lot of eating and drinking, and gift giving. To
many, these special occasions offer a chance to give and receive special gifts
that can only happen once a year, so to make that special someone happy, your
gift must really look extra nice. Here are some helpful tips to help you choose
an elegant wrapping paper for a particular holiday.
Christmas. Perhaps no holiday in the entire Christian world most venerated than
Christmas. To many, it is the most wonderful time of the year. When it comes to
choosing the right wrapping paper to cover those gifts, choose the designs that
best express Christmas. Wrapping papers made for this season are those with
Christmas tree designs, bells, Santa Claus design, snowman, etc. Typical
wrapping paper colors for this holiday are red and green. Monotone designs can
also have contemporary looks if properly adorned with matching ribbons (see
sample below). If you were saving for this specific holiday, why not have a
personalized wrapping paper instead, to show that you really care for those
people that you are going to give.
New Year. Traditionally, since the New Year celebration comes very close after
Christmas, people usually use the same theme for wrapping papers. You can also
find wrapping papers that have fireworks design, streamers, snow flakes or even
candy cane design will pass as a New Year symbol. Select bright colors,
typically a combination of white, red, or green.
Hannukah. Hannukah is a Jewish tradition celebrated for eight days during
December. When hunting for Hannukah wrapping papers, choose those with menorah
designs, stars (particularly the star of David), or dove which symbolizes peace.
Typical colors for this holiday are blue and gold.
Valentines Day. Valentine celebration is a display of love and affection. What
better way to express this on gifts than to have it wrap in a nicely crafted
paper with light colored background and red hearts as graphics or the opposite
(red background with white hearts).
When choosing the proper gift wrap design for a particular occasion, remember to
keep in mind the symbols that typify the celebration. If no specific icons are
symbolical of the holiday, you can opt to have a customized wrapping paper by
printing your own or ordering from online stores. Neutral or all occasion
wrapping papers can also be used for this purpose. A more economical approach
would be to create your own wrapping paper designs using everyday items on the
house. See "How To Make A Custom Wrapping Paper".
