Unique and Unusual Gift Wrapping Ideas

For many, gift wrapping is a wonderful experience. Some have even made it a career - teaching different crafts and techniques to create variations, styles and elegance to gift wrapping. A creative gift is an eye popper. The good news is that there are many ways to be creative when it comes to gift presentation. The most important material that you need though is a bit of creativity and imagination. Here is one idea that you might find interesting to create that non-traditional look.

Glittering Kraft Wrap

Customize a kraft paper so that it can be used as a sparkling wrapping paper to create that festive look.

Materials:

Brown kraft paper or a used brown grocery bag
Curling ribbon (two colors, enough to form a cross tie around the box plus a ribbon bow)
Glitters
Spray paint or watercolor (use any two color combination of your choice)

How to do it:

1. Crumple the kraft paper or grocery bag until you get a decent amount of wrinkles on the paper.
2. Using your hand, a book or any similar material with a flat surface, flatten out the paper and spray-paint it using variable densities of paint or paint with watercolor, alternating the two colors you have chosen. I suggest using green and red for the Christmas holidays, shades of red for Valentine and any other appropriate color for other occasions.
3. While the paint or watercolor is still damp, sprinkle the paper with a small amount of metallic glitters to create a sparkling effect. Do the same for the other side.
4. Using the pair of ribbon, form a cross tie around the box creating a large bow in the center of the box. Cut each of the ribbons through the middle of it's bow loop so that instead of having two loops, you will have eight separate strands. Curl the strands using the tip of a scissor.

You can also use aluminum foil to wrap the box and then afterwards painting it with spray paint. Aluminum foil is an inexpensive item and will form fit to any gift size or shape.
