Thanksgiving Wrapping Paper
Thanksgiving is a joyous time. It's a time for tradition and sharing. Although
relatives live far apart from one another, family members gather for a reunion
at the house of an older relative. They all share one common purpose, to give
thanks together for the good things that they have. Some show their spirit of
sharing by offering a traditional meal to those in need, especially those who
live on the streets. All throughout the continental U.S., eating Thanksgiving
dinner together and giving gifts have become a tradition. Turkey, corn (or
maize), pumpkins, and cranberry sauce have become popular symbols which
represent the very first Thanksgiving.
Nowadays, all of these symbols are drawn on holiday decorations, greeting cards,
and particularly wrapping paper. If you are planning on giving gifts for
Thanksgiving, you would want to find a wrapping paper with cornucopia, Indian
corn, pilgrim's hat, or a turkey as a design because these are iconic symbols of
Thanksgiving day in the United States. If you can not find a particular printed
wrapping paper suitable for Thanksgiving, you can create your own personalized
wrapper by following these easy step-by-step instructions:
1. Use an 8.5 x 13 substance 20 bond paper or white kraft paper. This is the
maximum paper width that you can use with your printer (standard inkjet
printers).
2. Download any image from the Internet that symbolizes the celebration of
Thanksgiving such as those mentioned above earlier. If you find an image that
you like, right-click on it and select Copy.
3. Open your favorite graphics program such as Adobe Photoshop and create a new
file with a canvass size of 8.5" (width) and 13" (height).
4. Right-click on the newly created canvass and select Paste. When your image
appears on the canvass, add a custom message and then "clone" both the image and
the message until it fills all the entire canvass area. (The two wrapping paper
designs above were created using Adobe Photoshop CS).
5. Print your customized wrapping paper.
Remember to use your imagination and put your creativity to the test. Your
recipient will surely appreciate your effort.
