New Year Wrapping Paper

The first pleasure that comes with giving a gift to someone is handing a striking package to the recipient. Then comes the pleasure of watching someone enjoy untying ribbon bows, tearing off wrapping paper, unfolding tissue or other stuffers, and finally seeing the gift.

Such is a wonder sight to see, especially during festive holidays such as New Year's Eve, when the whole family is gathered together celebrating the arrival of a brand new year. Children typically are the first to enjoy this event, where they can expect to get many gifts especially from proud grandparents.

Wrapping a wonderful gift for New Year also involves dedication and care. When hunting for a wrapping paper, consider those that are alive with colors and design. Fireworks display designs on wrapping paper is a popular choice. If you want to go for an oriental look, select a wrapping paper with dragon design or Chinese lantern designs. Traditionally, wrapping paper designs that typifies a festive theme can be used to present a gift for New Year. These includes balloons with confetti, musical notes denoting loud music and dancing, fireworks display, stars, wine glasses, and many others that can denote merry making and festivities.

You can also wrap odd-shaped objects using these wrapping papers, including wine bottles and gift baskets. To wrap a wine bottle:

* Simply roll the bottle around the wrapping paper, leaving about 2 inches of allowance to cover the bottom of the bottle, and allowing an extra 3 inches at the top to cover bottle cap.
* Secure the wrapping paper with transparent tape, both at the bottom of the bottle and at the side of the bottle where each end of the wrapping paper meets. Press the wrapper against the bottle at the neck portion so that the wrapper will take the shape of the bottle.
* Roll the wrapped bottle in a colored cellophane wrap. Make sure you use a large piece so that you will have an allowance at the top. Tie the cellophane wrap with a ribbon.
* Attach a gift card on the neck portion of the bottle.

If you would like to be eco-friendly, I suggest you use magazine pages or newspaper to wrap the bottle instead of wrapping paper. It will help you save on paper and money.
