Gift Wrapping Tape Choices and Dispensers
A lot of gift wrapping ideas involve not only cutting a decent amount of
wrapping paper but also involves using a good amount of adhesive, particularly
adhesive tapes. This is particularly true when wrapping a large box or securing
a box with heavy items. Practically speaking, you can use a variety of adhesive
tapes available at home. But for the more meticulous and stylish, these tips and
ideas will help you finish off that gift wrapping job with style.
For sealing up those large boxes, use heavy-duty packaging tapes. However, be
careful not to overuse these tapes because you might end up sealing the box so
tightly that the recipient will have a hard time opening your gift. Use just the
right amount to seal openings or secure items within the box. Use a 48mm brown
or clear packaging tape to seal a box greater than 12" x 6" in size. You can use
a smaller diameter tape if the box is smaller. Utilize a tape dispenser
appropriate for the tape width.
The most widely used adhesive tape when it comes to gift-wrapping is the
transparent tape. Typically, smaller tape strips of about 25mm in width are
ideal for keeping those wrapping papers in place. Use personal tape dispensers
to avoid cutting and sticking bits of tape across the edge of the table or
accidentally sticking the tape on the gift. Additionally, when doing a seam line
wrapping technique, use double-sided tape on overlaps to have a neat look. Use
also transparent tape to stick those ribbons and bows into place for a nice
final touch.
Gifts wrapped with kraft paper can be taped with complimentary kraft paper tape,
which comes in light brown color similar to kraft paper. Smaller strips of 25mm
in width are ideal for kraft wrapping papers. Similarly, you can also use
transparent adhesive tapes to tidy up your gifts wrapped with kraft paper.
Make sure you have plenty of tapes with varying widths in your gift-wrapping
kit. Put them in a nice container or plastic so that they can easily be reached
if you need them in a hurry.
