Summer Wrapping Paper
Summer is a wonderful season. It is a time when people get to spend the whole
day out in the sun. Because summer is more often characterized by mild to hot
weather, many cultural symbols have been associated with it, including beaches,
surf boards, eyewear, beach balls, and summer clothing.
In most countries, summer is a time for vacation. Because schools are out, it is
a common season for travel. In the United States, Memorial Day marks the
beginning of the season while Labor Day in May 1 marks the unofficial end of it.
In between, there is Fathers Day and Grandparents Day.
Summer is also an excellent time to organize get-together parties such as family
reunions and class reunions. Reunions are perfect events to share family history
and traditions as well as rekindle old friendships. When the occasion calls for
gift giving, it is best to express your thoughts through specialized gifts. To
make it more appropriate, wrap your gifts in wrapping paper with outdoor themes.
These gift-wraps should express the season of summer through symbolical images
or clip arts typical of outdoor activities.
If you like simple gift wraps, create a theme for every gift, such as an ocean
theme. Use plain blue or aqua blue wrapping paper to wrap the gift. Decorate it
by cross-tying a white or green ribbon netting around the box. Finish it off
with a large ribbon bow and sprinkle metallic glitters on top of the box. You
could also try using a floral theme using pale green paper and dark green
ribbon. Cut a fresh flower and tape it on top of the gift.
However, if you don't like the idea of buying commercial wrapping paper and
would rather recycle old papers, you can use old magazines with pictures of
ancient maps or even maps that you no longer needed, probably from a reunion
trip you took the previous summer. You can also use fabric as an alternative to
wrapping paper. This will not only save you a lot of costs, but you will also
help reduce paper waste through recycling. An eco-friendly way to wrap your
gifts.
