Autumn Wrapping Paper

The autumn season is one of the four seasons in the temperate zones. In the United States and the North American continent, autumn is popularly known as fall, which is the brief period of transition from summer into winter. It is a time when crops are harvested, days get shorter and cooler, while nights get longer, and deciduous trees lose their leaves. In the northern parts of the globe, the autumn season is host to a variety of holidays, full of celebrations and gift giving. Among them are Halloween, Ramadan, Thanksgiving, Yom Kippur, and Diwali, to name a few.

However, in between these holidays, there are also lots of private celebrations that can involve gift giving such as a simple house warming party, family reunions, get-together office party, etc. These gatherings require you to hunt for gift wraps other than what symbolizes the other major holidays. Traditionally, you can look for commercially available wrapping papers that represent the autumn season, and what better way to express autumn in your gifts than to use a wrapping paper designed with falling leaves.

The wrapping papers on the right are custom-made designs crafted using Adobe Photoshop(c) CS. These wrapping papers are ideal for gift giving parties and events celebrated during the autumn season. Crafting these designs is fairly easy with Photoshop:

* Create a blank canvass (Ctrl-N) with a white background color. Basically, you need a 11" x 8.5" canvass if you are going to print the wrapping paper.
* Right click on the blank canvass to select a brush type. For the falling ivy, use brush number 84 under the Special Effects Brushes. Use brush number 74 for the scattered maple leaves. Select the sizes of the leaves by adjusting the Master Diameter selection to the desired pixel dimension.
* Select a foreground color (the color of the leaves) from the toolbox. Use different combinations of colors, such as green, yellow, brown, and red. You can also experiment with different background colors. \
* To make the wrapping paper truly personalized, add a custom message using the Text tool and type in any message you prefer.
